Research capacity-building in teacher education

This paper reviews recent policy understandings of research capacity in teacher education the UK. It then draws on a case study from Wales to suggest conceptualisation capacity-building that encompasses individual, organisational and systemic levels while remaining sensitive particulars professional practice education. We argue healthy ecology research-rich includes educators based universities, schools, colleges or other settings, teachers practitioners, students, school management, governors, local authorities, makers, funders, publishers. recommend principled approach public investment initiatives embraces vision collaborative development along all career stages, commits sustaining more expansive culture organisations, matched by appropriate recognition mechanisms.
